The organization and planning begin for the new shop

in woodworking •  7 years ago

So I was kinda forced to start planning and organizing the new shop since a customer bought a cigar box on my Etsy shop. All this trouble for one cigar box.....lol. But the incentive was appreciated... While I was at the storage facility I went ahead and grabbed a couple more boxes with some parts in them. Next I need to get my power tools in the shop. So I have come to the conclusion I have a crapload of cigar boxes and haven't even got them all put away and am running out of room. Guess I better start building some more guitars huh? Here are some shots of the shelves with various cigar boxes....

Some of those are pretty fancy. Do you smoke that many cigars or where do they all come from?

Oh hell no....I will smoke one once in a while but I get mine from local smoke shops and other vendors that specialize I them, antique stores, etc. They are everywhere, you just gotta be picky and thrifty. It doesn't pay to give up 20 or more dollars for a box unless the customer wants it and its in the price. On average I pay about 3 bucks each. They are kinda territorial too. Some are easily found in one part of the states and not the other. The black Arturo Fuentes box is one I will pay a stupid price for but I love the box, it sounds good, its all wood, its huge and it looks awesome. Older vintage boxes get more especially if they are all wood.
