Decided I wanted to get two bowls out of this one.

Got the first one roughed out.

Have to take it easy when I hollow it so it does not crack any worse.

That will be a beautiful piece, the cracks give it some great character! Are you planning on staining it or doing something else with it?

Thanks. I think just wax will do. You can see another from the same log in my post a few weeks back finished in wax.

Blimey mate you are brave. I know how easy something like that can explode ! Looks like a nice piece.

It did end up exploding when the walls got thin. I was standing to the side.

You are a man with patients. I never did get into using a lathe my entire 30+ years of woodworking. Thanks for sharing your projects. I am new so I will follow you.

Thanks, and welcome. I followed you right back. Always happy to have more woodworkers around. Clean and sober 22 years myself.
