And in some of these circles, people are really not careful to distinguish between them.
Type 1: Personal - the "energy" you experience coming off of another person (e.g., getting a bad vibe from a person or feeling happy whenever you're around a certain person)
Type 2: Interoceptive - the experience of "energy" in one's own body (e.g., the tingly electric/static feeling one can experience when focussing closely on one's own body while meditating)
Type 3: Scene - the "energy" of a crowd of people or room or setting (e.g., the energy on a dance floor or in a bustling restaurant)
Type 4: Movement - the internal "energy" you feel in martial arts (e.g., learning to channel kinetic energy "from the ground" to increase the power of a punch)
Type 5: Psychological - one's "energy" level (e.g., whether you feel active, eager to do things, and won't tire easily)
Type 6: Biological - the ability of living organisms to carry out processes (e.g., energy used in cell division)
Type 7: Scientific - energy as defined in physics (usually the capacity to do work, measured in joules, such as potential energy, chemical energy, kinetic energy, nuclear energy, etc.)
Type 8: Bodywork - some people believe they can feel or manipulate another person’s “energy” by moving their hands near a person without touching the person (personally, I don’t believe that this would stand up to a properly blinded experiment)
