Amsterdam-based startup WordProof has introduced an extension for the WordPress web content management system that allows you to create time stamps for published content in the Ethereum blockchain, The Block writes.
WordProof claims that their solution will help protect copyrights, increase transparency in content creation and track changes in content. To use the service, website owners do not need to have the skills to interact with the Block.
Time stamps allow creating "unique and universal prints" or hashes for all publications, pages and media content. If the content is changed in any way, the hash will also change. It is added to the Ethereum blockchain with a time stamp so that the user can confirm the publication at a given time.
WordProof earlier this year received a €1 million grant from the European Commission, winning the "Blockbusters for the benefit of society" competition and beating 175 other teams.
This is not the first attempt to combine the technology of cryptocurrency and WordPress. In April Draper Goren Holm presented the first extension for WordPress with the functionality of a decentralized exchange. It allows to add to sites a service with which visitors can exchange cryptocurrencies and stablecoins.
