My Work Life – The Beginning of the End of Our Pilot Program on Entrepreneurship

As I mentioned previously, CyberCare has 3 core programs, namely Make A Difference (M.A.D.) which we catered for 13 – 15 year old, Self-Empowering Transition & Employability Programme (S.T.E.P) and Youth Entrepreneurship Programme (Y.E.P).

What do we actually want to achieve here? Everything now is about sustainability. When we talk about this matter, it is not just for the youth, but also for the homes and NGOs like us. By continuously creating little entrepreneurs, it is like creating small ripples in the water where eventually they will combine and turn into waves. With such impact, the life of the underserved community will be changed forever.

It took us more than 2 years to prepare and convince our partners to go on this journey with us. Almost every person we met told us that it cannot be done, we aimed too high, we think too much, the youth will never be able to cope with it, and you are insane. Yes! We agreed that we are insane. Why? Because the whole program involves intense study and learning of business, finance, sales, marketing, etc in just 3 months. It is definitely a crash course which no one trusts that we could do it. Yes, the sail is not always smooth but we made it! The youth made it! They finally graduated yesterday!!
