Steem Hard With a Vengeance/ Work Rant πŸ”«πŸ˜Ž *May Not Be Suitable for Some Viewers..

What's up y'all? It's your favorite Steemer "Golden Drizzle" hitting you upside the head with another hot post.

I'm spent guys. Just got home from work, cooking for hundreds of fat people at a 60 year old dive joint down the street.

One party alone was 50 turkey dinners with all the fixins for a Winners staff party. What a bunch of savages!

These fuckers prepaid for the special request of having stupid Christmas dinners, it's not on our menu so we spend half the night preparing it all and not one of them tipped their friggin servers at the end!

Some people just don't get it.

These girls make minimum wage, they rely on their tips to pay their bills. I'm sure most of you can assume a minimum wage check for 30-35 hours a week isn't paying for much. Most these chicks are trying to pay for school, Christmas is coming up and on top of that..at the end of their shift they have to pay a percentage of their sales back to the kitchen. We get a small cut that gets divided up amoungst the cooks for our tip share.

So they spent most the night running their asses off, answering retarded questions and pouring gallons of glasses of water because these people are so cheap they weren't gonna spend a dime that wasn't covered by their bosses on real drinks..

All considered, a couple of the extra staff that we had to bring in to serve these yokals actually walked out making less than minimum wage after paying out to the kitchen. So lame.

Moral of the story is..you gotta tip your servers people, it's not a bonus that you pick and choose to pay. If you go out to a sit down restaurant around here you gotta leave a tip or you're a complete deadbeat. If you don't want to leave a few bucks behind after you eat then go to McDonalds or Wendy's ffs!

Part two of this rant, fuck!

So alot of you know I started this new job after having a couple months off. I had surgery and decided it was a good time to resign from the last place I worked for 3 years. I was doing breakfast shifts 5 am to 1 pm but the 4 am rise wiped me out. I figured I'd take some time off, heal and then find another gig.

This is when I found Steemit. I took the not having to work thing and ran with it. I set myself up on here blogging daily and doing my nightly Discord rounds.

As I was saying..so this new place I'm working now I'm at the bottom of the scrotum pole, doing all close shifts but the worst part is I'm working 6 days a week! That's too much and I'm gonna have to talk to the chef I guess?

I got hired on the basis I wanted 40-50 hours a week with 2 days off, but the schedules keep going up with me on 6 days and that ain't for me player.

It sucks because the chef's on salary, he's usually in the office and I'm too busy to talk to him. He works alot of caterings and at another location so he pulls about 70 hours a week. The other sous chef is salaried too and works 6 days a week, but that ain't what I signed up for. I have other interests besides work and I can't pursue them when I'm on 6 days out of a cocksucking 7!

It's really busy leading up to Christmas, I get it, but I've only been there a month and I'm already burnt out. As the new fish in the kitchen I feel kinda bad complaining already but life's not all about work you know?

Lol. And yeah there was actually some left. I took some turkey, gravy and chorizo stuffing home and made some killer turkey burgers a few minutes ago 😁

I only worked for a short time doing serving but we knew that the bigger the party, the less money in tips. It's totally stupid not to do the tipping when someone else is taking the brunt of the bill but when people get taken out for food no one tips. It feels bad when it's misbehaving or indecisive kids but man! Grown up people in a mob feeding frenzy really send you home exhausted. Those few months taught me about tipping!

The work hours at some of those places are like slave labor except if there's a lull that day and you've been working there less than 3-5 years, Then they send you home short your hours. It's brutal. This is me empathizing.

I totally get it. I've never worked at a restaurant, but in retail, guh. When the boss gives you 6 days and you're asking for 4. I told him off and we compromised to 5. I hated working slave jobs. Minimum wage jobs are slave jobs (and I did a typo before correcting "mini wage", it's accurate). JOB = Just Over Broke.

I hope you'll be able to find some freedom and money from doing what you love.

Oh, and F those jerks who did't tip. You gotta tip, and then leave an extra penny to show your appreciation. That's what they told us in bartending school. But I never actually worked as a bartender. Too intense.

Scrotum pole???? You are hilarious!

Well, you figured it out pretty quickly, it took me almost 3 months to figure out working so many hours sucks. that was 17 years ago and I am still putting in too many hours with the same company!.
