What can I say, my friends? This post is long overdue and it is time to finish the story of the bathroom renovations I did with my father and brother. It was quite a journey to tell you the truth. We had to strip it all down to basically bricks in order to do it properly. We had to change the old pipes literally and pretty much tear down, replace, and start from scratch. Even though it was a small bathroom it took a lot of work to get it all done. So let's remember where we started from....
This is basically where we started. With the beat-up door and the frame and I don't even know how old bathtub and tiles. We had to tear it al down. Including the sink, and the old toilet. It all started with a hammering it all down.
It took about 2 days to strip it all down. We had stripped all the old tiles down, removed the toilet, take out the sink, boiler, and the old washing machine. Water damaged tiles were easy to take down but the other ones where the old glue was still holding was tougher to strip down and we had to use the drill to help us out. After all that was done, we had to take the old bathtub. Which was heavy and we had to break it in pieces to take it out.
After the old bathtub was out of the bathroom we had to call in the plumber to exchange the pipes and connect it all. He was actually very fast with it as he was my dad's friend.
After all the plumbing was done it was time to start putting it back altogether. We had to level up the floor below over the new plumbing and prepare it for the new tiles. After that was done we were ready to put in the new tiles.
My dad is a strong man, but one day he got tired and all he can do is rest. Heck, we needed some rest. We were 2-3 into the work almost working non-stop all day. Soon the bathroom was coming together and we were more than pleased how it all was turning out.
Returning the toilet was a highlight of our renovations as my dad was tired of going to nearby Caffe to go to the bathroom. His smile says it all my amazing Stemmian friends. lol
Let us remember the special tile which as my fathers said was a diploma of a master craftsman from my dad. hehe As this was the first time in my life I worked on all of this. After the bathroom was ready for the new appliances I had to strip down the door frame and redo it all. And, of course, repaint the door.
We basically bought everything new. The tiles, toilet, new sink, new washing machine, and basically everything in the bathroom is new. And, it is time for you guys to finally see it. I know I drag this out for too long. And, I am finally finishing what I started.
As you can see we decided to more of a motel shower with drainage built into the ground. We did this because it gave us so much more space and our bathroom did not look so small anymore. That bathtub was taking way too much space in our bathroom. It was actually my brother's Nikola idea to do this and it turned out perfect.
I absolutely love how our bathroom turned. I took a lot of time to finish it all but we have DONE IT pretty much all with our own two hands which makes it even more special. We created an amazing memory by rebuilding this bathroom. It was not all sunshine and rainbows but we stuck through them and finished it. I am really interested in what you guys think? So see you in the comment section.
Thank you all reading, have a blessed day, much love,
