Read Me My Writes: A Blog on Write Club, Entry #8

in writeclub •  7 years ago

When all else fails, write a Write Club post!

No, in all seriousness, I (surprisingly) have a lot going on, what with my music and job(s) and being a scraight pLaYa (oHOHOh), so I'm trying to separate myself from all that and, well, let y'all in on all the happenings.

Here we go!

What's Happened Since Last Time?

Oh dahling far too much!

Yes, other people have posted about Write Club since I posted my last blog, what, two weeks ago? (Actually, exactly two weeks ago today!) but, ya know what, recaps are fun and if for some reason you're just following me and not the other members of Write Club, well, shame! They're super cool!

Okay, last time we talked about the fourth prompt about the unreliable narrator and, as everyone has agreed(ish), that round turned out the strongest group of Write Club stories yet! We're crazy stoked with how everything's going!

Alright, now we're at the fifth prompt that my bud @xanderslee posted six days ago where, basically, we have to tell a story of someone that is lost in any way, shape or form.

That Brings Us to Present Day! Right?

That is so right! Ya boy has already finished his and, without spoiling much, it involves a washed out fair, fried foods, a swindling carnie, gender fluidity and mirrors (oooh!). We'll see how this goes. It's not hyper ridiculous like my last few have been. I think I described it in Discord as a "rom-com" so, if you're into those and have a literary journal, hit me up! ;P

What's Up With You Then, Caleb?

Well, I'm finishing up my Spring Break which means I'll soon return to a healthy weight. I've enjoyed working, working and more working, so that was cool!

I wrote and recorded a song for a contest in the meantime. That's pretty cool, right? I'm hoping it'll win.

What's super cool is that a band I absolutely adore called Looming liked my latest post on Instagram! I was repping their t-shirt while playing that new song and, wow, maybe they listened to it! That'd be neat, right? I also had the band My Epic and a few others like the video, so I'm a little high on air right now.

I also released another song called "Bi" that I wrote recently when I got crazy depressed. It's on Soundcloud if you're into that, but I really just put it out as a cathartic thing versus an important release. I don't know. If you want to hear it, it's here.

Welp, thanks for reading! You guys are the crazy best and I adore all of you! (But especially the folks that comment ;P )

Goodnight and God bless!!!

Your story sounds very interesting. Sounds like you have a lot going on!

Oh, I definitely do! Thanks for reading :D

Hey, Caleb, stopped by to Soundcloud to check you out and it says: "This track was not found. Maybe it has been removed" (Hope you're feeling better.)

Thank you! I'm kind of feeling better. I had a great day Wednesday. but of course, I'm not allowed two, so Thursday I was in the dumps, and today I've perpetually felt like crying?
I've got another link if you still want the song, but it's pretty raw (as fair warning) and I forgot how to sing the bridge, so it's kinda wonky sounding too. But the words are the point, ya know?

hmm... dunno why you don't think you're allowed 2 goods day. thanks, for warning and song link. take care

It's not that I'm not allowed persay, but my emotional highs always come with a low dip right afterwards. It's stupid :P

I understood, my friend, after listening to your song. Sending good vibes your way, and hope this finds your heart at ease _/|\_

Greetings, @caleblailmusik sorry I missed you in discord. I took the liberty to private message you some info about the Steemit Collaborative Fiction series which you can find in the tribe on discord.

Thank you for that! <3

Sound pretty cool you adventures in music.

I'm sorry, what?

Hahahaha, where was I with my mind when writing that comment. Sorry! :(

It's okay! It happens. Sometimes I'll be typing while my brother is watching TV and then I look and it turns out I was typing out my thoughts on what I was hearing :P

Hahahaha and indeed, quite recognisable :)
