I believe all drafts are important. Even scrap. Whether it’s getting it out of your system, experimenting, or developing something you would like to work with, it is all useful. You can’t hit a home run every time at bat, but you’ll have far fewer home runs the less you step up to the plate.

Definitely! Some of the good stuff came from scrap, and sometimes scrap is just to scrap it out of your system; so we should never hold high standards for our first drafts. The editing and polishing for publication is a secondary job
