Why I Write

I have always wanted to be an author because of the books I read as a young girl. The books always have connected with me on some level. That was what I wanted to do for others, give them new characters and worlds to explore.

There are times when I write I feel compelled to move from one character to another. There have been times that I don’t always use all that I write because it just doesn’t fit. But I hold onto it because I know that one day it may be useful. I actually used a few to write short stories originally for backstory but also to introduce others to my world that I was creating.

Writing can also just make me feel better. As I get transported to the worlds I’m creating. I get to live there, even if it’s only for a little while. Even meeting my characters as I create them can be exciting. Sometimes I feel like they create themselves and surprise me with what they say.

Why do you write? What is it like creating you new worlds? Is it compulsion or just when you feel the need to write? Whatever drives you to write, keep doing it. We need more creators in this world and always looking forward to reading new material.

I write to blend emotion with ideas, to give life to my characters and truth to their stories, no matter how fictional they are.

I hope you keep writing too!

That’s beautiful. I do feel telling your characters stories makes for easier writing.

I write just to test my skills ;)

I feel like it always does that for me.

I look at writing as a compulsion. I have also written since I was a young girl and stashed away my writing, always wondering what provokes it. What surprises me most, is sometimes reading what I wrote before and thinking, "I wrote that?

We are ever evolving, so what we write evolves with us and it's often very enlightening to read our previous missives. I enjoyed your thoughts.

I have stuff from when I was a kid and love to read my imaginations of what I wanted to happen. I totally love that you do that too. I’m glad you are enjoying my thoughts.
