real life, death in poetry

in writing •  6 years ago

Mum, since you died, many times. I have cried.
Since you've been dead, I've been going out of my head.
Are you up in the sky? Way up there so high.
Do you form part of the stars, way up there beyond Mars.
You told me when you were alive!
You would come back if you could.
often I sighed and wondered if you would!
The presence that was felt, it made my heart melt!
Was this a sign that I was reaching you on your plane
Or was it just a sign that I was going completely insane
But you stayed a while mum and you lent me a hand,
Only while your here with me do I truly understand.
But to believe in a dream that begins at the end
I truly know is so hard to comprehend
