Desperate Measures

A question for my writers, poets, and creatives: what do you do when they're in work, on the bus, out at the shops, and an idea, a bar of lyrics, a line of dialogue, or an electric bolt of inspiration hits you?

The above picture is my hand after this happened to me on work recently, but I've recently switched to texting myself whatever screed of thoughts I want to hold on my brain (a much cleaner method!) It made me wonder what other people do when caught with no paper or pad? Can you keep the idea in your mind, or do you end up with Inky fingers, like I do?

I either carry around scraps of paper and a pen, use a phone, or try to remember and write it down later. Or I forget completely.

The only thing worse than forgetting entirely is getting home with your notes, transferring them all over to your fancy pad or laptop, only to discover that what you thought was pure literary gold is actually dirty yellow plasticine! Sometimes forgetting is a mercy for the ego! ;)

Hmm.. I remembered some of my classmates in college during exams in accounting class, they wrote formulas on their hands. Haha

Ha! I relate! I was even worse in college, used to end up with notes up to my elbows ;)

Haha. You're very clever.

Thank you! Ha ha, I try and convince people of that ;)

You are..👍
