Making Friends pt10

Ric laughed and walked out the door, “Deal.”
The patrolling part wasn’t really what was difficult for him, it was all the walking and driving. He didn’t think about how far away he was from all the spots that the officer marked and how annoying it would be to find a parking spot. He knew he could probably figure out how to fly using his power, but he didn’t want to draw attention to himself yet. The last thing he wanted was to escape a prisoner’s life in New York City just to have a social outcast’s life in Missouri, so he walked. He was lucky that he brought his car, though, because he heard a loud commotion on the top of a parking garage with an open roof. He quickly parked in the first available spot and got out. His mind was filling quickly with the acceleration of gravity, wind friction, the incline of the ramp where he parked, and how to create a shield in front of himself to block cars somehow; ten seconds later, he was hovering comfortably five feet above the pavement. He finally made it to the top of the building and saw what he didn’t think was possible.
