Whole30 – Day 6

Whole30, Day 6, Sunday 1/7/2017

Day 6 of 30 days of clean eating. I am trying to clean up an already pretty clean diet for 30 days to see how my body—which has been a bit cranky over the last couple of years—likes it. No sugar, alcohol, legumes, dairy, carrageenan, MSG or sulfites, and no grains or baked goods. So far so good on establishing a link between body aches and my diet. It happened on day two of this adventure. Done been established.

So, if the link between diet and my body aches has been established, why am I continuing? I believe the idea at the end of this 30 days is to re-introduce these foods to see how they are impacting you. In my case, are they the culprits involved in the back aches and similar achy complaints. You will be relieved to know I have no desire to post about that phase of things, but I do want to make to that point and plan to blog until then. And along the way I am learning a lot about Steemit. My husband @preparedwombat got me interested in Steemit several months ago. I did one post last summer, and then the whole wedding thing took over my life for a while, and I am just getting back to Steemit now with the wedding and the holidays behind us.

We had a fun little wedding and a lovely honeymoon, and I’ll tell you what: If they happened today, I would have been thinking all the while about how to post about them. So maybe it is a good thing that I didn’t really get excited about Steemit until afterward. As many of you lovely Steemians have discovered, this stuff can be habit forming. I’m not saying I am sticking with the Whole30 because of Steemit, but it doesn’t hurt.

What I ate Sunday 1/7/2017
Breakfast: Fruit, eggs, pork chop, coffee
Lunch: Skipped it
Dinner: Fruit, coleslaw, salmon

i really want to do this but it takes so much dedication, focus and commitment

The Whole30 people say no, this isn't hard. Giving birth is hard, losing a parent is hard, etc. But actually, it really can be hard depending on what else is going on in your life. If you have kids or a really heavy job or are caring for someone who is elderly or ill, any of those things can make it really tough to commit to something like this. If you end up doing it, I'd pick the time that is right for you.

Thanks for reading and responding.

I don’t find it hard, particularly. But A) I love vegetables and can eat salad for at least one or two meals a day, B) I have found ways to create really quick and satisfying meals within the diet parameters. The challenge for me is that I have to cook for my family too and they won’t eat what I’m eating. So I make a full meal for them and a separate little meal for me.

But the weight loss is worth it!
