What is The Writers' Block?

We began life as the fiction workshop at PALnet, the Discord server for the Minnow Support Project. We spread our wings and started our own Discord server, integrating poetry, non-fiction, playwright and technical workshops soon after. We also have an English language channel to assist non native English writers with grammar, spelling and punctuation.

What do we do?

The Writers' Block can help writers of all these disciplines polish their work. We assist new writers get to grips with grammar, punctuation, story mechanics, formatting etc. For example, the fiction workshop has several experienced editors such as @rhondak, @carolkean, @tinypaleokitchen, @anarcho-andrei, @thinknzombie and @bex-dk. They are all too willing to help knock works of fiction into shape and smooth out those rough edges. In the poetry workshop you can work on your poetry, getting feedback and suggestions from @geke and @sunravelme. The other workshops offer much of the same help.

Once a week we have a Fictioneers radio show, broadcast on Twitch, featuring discussion of all things fiction. Starting this week we have @anarcho-andrei's State Of The Witness show and tonight the Shane and Muxxy Show returns from this, our new home.

Why join us?

Firstly, either to improve your writing or to share your skills with our community. We have brainstorming sessions which help to grow ideas for stories or maybe to take your work into a direction you may not have considered. Edited and workshopped work stands a better chance of higher rewards, or of getting recognised by curation teams. I run my @Muxxybot curation account from this server, there are several of @acidyo's OCD curators on board and we have regular visits from a few of @Curie's curators, all looking for great posts to curate.

How do I join?

Click HERE to join our general channel. This is a place to introduce yourself, tell us about your writing or what you would like to learn. Also it is a great place to get to know the rest of us in a relaxed and jovial atmosphere. All new users start as an honorary member and they will have access to all the workshops. Honorary members however are not allowed to post links in our post link channels: to assist curators we try to keep a check on the content of these channels. As honorary members get more involved with the community they will be promoted to full members with posting privileges.

We look forward to meeting you at the block.

Nice overview post of a great group of folks. Some excellent writers on the writers block, and I've been writing a lot more lately as a result of being in the company of other writers. It's nice to share the struggle with like-minded people.

You and your sense of humour have assimilated well into our hive mind. Always fun to be had when you're around.

HaHa! I JUST WATCHED one episode Star Trek and have still Seven of Nines voice in my head: "Irrelevant":)))

Glad to have you on board dude.

You are one of those "excellent writers," too. Don't be modest! :-)

This is what makes the writers block great!

Thank you @gmuxx for the amazing introduction to our lovely family. And thank you for all that you continue to do for us. Know that we love you all the more for it. This community is amazing and a lot of that is thanks to you. Hug

It wouldn't be what it is without people like you.

Don't forget asshat! :-D

Oh yes, it wouldn't be the same without asshat =D

An amazing group of people :)

I'm glad I'm part of this community... I'm glad I knew you since the PAL days... And I'm glad I submitted few of my works to you.

I appreciate your work and thanks for sharing it ! I'm fully interested in and I'm on it now to read!

This may look like a contradiction but a writer's block mostly happens when you don't like it anymore, the interest of "writing". Also NOISLI can be a good solution. It is actually an app to help their users "focus" better ; but they also have a "distraction free" text editor with the ambient sound you wish in the background. You can find "NOISLI" and many others from here..: https://steemit.com/steemit/@lamegliogioventu/best-online-services-and-tools-a-library-for-the-most-useful-online-services-and-tools

Good Post

Thank you very much for sharing inspiring content.

Good Post thanks for sharing

Glad to have finally heard about something like this! I've found it surprisingly difficult to find writers groups. I'm heading over there now to check it out.

Bummer, that I am German. Though I write a lot in English but my novel - which I started to publish chapterwise here on steemit - is written in my tongue. :-(

Maybe I should open up a German writers corner.

We also have non fic and technical writing... hint hint
We can assimilate you in no time.

that I am sure of:) - As I am so overworked right now, I will come back and follow what you post here. Discord Channel: I tried one time and hushed away because I couldn't cope with the speed ... woahh.... to flickering for my eyes.

That's only in general when the US shift is awake. Most of the European day is much quieter. ;-) Just know you are welcome to join our madness.

Thanx a lot:) !

As new to the group, they are very helpful and fun.

Great to have you at the block

Comment spam from at least 3 clone accounts? Not good form.

Make that 7. I say we down these in actual comments. Starting now. ;-)

Clone accounts ? what are you talking about ? @gmuxx

3 accounts with the same comment. Either they are the same person or they can't be bothered to write their own original comments. Either way, bad form.

what's my fault ? Do I write your comment? Do I share? Do you understand my strength is down. !!!!!

I don't know about the other accounts, but your latest comments have copy pasted comments from you in at least three different people, the only difference is the username of the creator of the post you commented on.

But if you made a comment that us know you read the post then we might even upvote or follow you...

And why are all of your own posts just copies of videos other people did with no credit to the original author of those videos? Not even to mention that @ecocoin is doing the same thing on their blog.

So which one are you?

@ecocoin has commented on your comment!

@gmuxx I'm commenting on your share I'm upvote, you're downvote. Bravo

Well... It's just that generic comments like this, especially when there are 3 pretty much repeating what the others said, makes us think you are a bot or someone from the FollowMeBecauseIFollowYou persuasion. Leaving a comment that shows everyone you read the comment, on the other hand, can spark an interesting conversation, and actually make others curious enough to check you out and and possibly follow you.

Heyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy ? what are you doing @gmuxx , why send downvote :@ the power fell.

3 of the same comments the same from 3 separate accounts? And all 3 post the same type of content? Hmmm

I Now read

Oh you changed comment from 'what's my fault ? Do I write your comment? Do I share? Do you understand my strength is down. !!!!!...'
