Hello, fellow Steemians,
This is my first post in quite some time. I have been in art school and that takes up quite a bit of my time, but, I have quite a few drawings, paintings, poems, and sculptures to share with you all.
This is a personal interpretation of Edward Hopper's painting "By the Sea". I enjoy this painting for the simple composition and subject matter.
Here also is a poem I am working on.
Frog Whiskey
tiny thimble, thin tiny hands,
sun-kissed stones, listening to jazz bands
Mrs. Frog stretched out and she smiled
and Mr. Frog ate a sandwich while
his wife relaxed. A peaceful day on
water they soaked up the hot sun.
Whiskey glasses and cool jazz tunes
a pad for two stretched on our own
river. Laughs came easy and they
were sweet times but they did not stay.
Fishies jumping-making splashes
so the Frogs must move their glasses
out of the way. Mrs. Frog frowned
at Mr. Frog who almost growled
at Mrs. Frog who stood and said,
"I'm tired of droplets on my head,
when fishies jump and make a splash
and make me have to move my glass.
So, in the house to drink I go
and if you want me you will too.
-John Allenbaugh
