The Departure [A cathartic text]

in writing •  6 years ago  (edited)

I never call my poems "poems", I call them "cathartic texts". This is the rough translation of one of them.

You misassumed yourself, fool
and now you do not know how to get rid of the mask
how to rinse -your face of assumptions.

Worms crawl inside in your ears
while you write the letter
that you never finish,
that you never send

Keep at it, little fool
keep writing it
keep listening to your voice,
rereading you,
pleasuring you with words
with cathartic vomit

Do not look for answers
You just wish to invoke the echoes
and accentuate the "ifs"

Keep asking yourself

You'll end up listening to Morrissey
lying in bed,
writing the letter.
You will reach twenty seven
and you will have turned forty years of loneliness,
singing to your mother -Oh, mother!
that you already know
that is over

You are going to send the letter
and at the end
the mask is going to fall,
the pleasure is going to be over
and you will not know what to do with so many questions
and so, finally
you will learn
how to build the void
