While it is known dear friends, the shoemaker's saying to his shoe, is very true. When I mention in my title, the great controversy existing in the dilemmas of a teacher, currently education in my country does not escape from that devastating crisis that consumes us all professionals. I am a pedagogue (Specialist in children up to the age of 9), with only two semesters to finish my studies as a full-time teacher (Teacher of all elementary grades), with 18 years of experience in Early Childhood Education, first Up to third grade, a colleague asks for my services to cover a sixth grade degree with children ranging in age from 11 years to 13 years.
Since I was available, immediately accept. Really from the beginning, my biggest challenge was to fill the gap left by their teacher, in Venezuela for some years, the children (as) are made an act of degree for his completion of the first stage, his shirt color change from white to blue, it's really a very emotional act for them.
So I entrusted myself to continue with his teaching on the topics of interest and of course with his planning of the event. In fact everything went down by bad comments of a group of representatives who were given the task of making destructive criticisms about the classroom activities we carried out pedagogically.
How sad to see how when you do a job with the greatest dedication, with the heart, be displaced by your own interests. I know from conviction that those who will suffer the absence of their teacher will be the students, the repetitive teacher change and even more culminating a school year destabilizes them.
In private education there is the mistaken idea that the teachers are there, to take care of children and the education given by the teacher is an omission, until we have arrived, they only care that the students are not retired in order to continue subsidizing the institution . In addition to this the salary pay is really very little, we can not cover almost any of our basic needs. That is why so much education professional has left our country.
It is very sad to share this experience, because when I decided to become a teacher, I did it for my vocation with the children. Although it sounds a little discordant, it is for what I prepare in my life, I will look for other directions, outside of my country.
Well I hope you can give me some comments, thank you very much.
If you're there to help the kids, if that is your motivation, I'm sure you will do a lot of good to all you come across. Good luck!
