Perfection Is An Illusion

in writing •  7 years ago

There may be exceptions, but generally speaking, perfection is unattainable.

Perfection is an illusion.

It's something that plagues many of us, and we find ourselves getting lost in the pursuit of it. Like an animal chasing its tail; a bottomless pit; a rabbit hole.

It's one thing to challenge yourself, and to improve upon your work and your craft, to improve yourself and grow... It's great to better something; it's great to better yourself. But remember, "better" is often subjective and based on perception.

Practice letting go and letting be.

See and understand the value in differences; see merit in the variations. See beauty in a process. Find the magic in a journey.

In most cases, there isn't one particular thing, or one particular end result, or one particular destination, that's "perfect."

The sooner you loosen the the reins, the sooner you can breathe and feel the freedom.
