When I was a teen, I never wanted the things my parents wanted for me, I wanted to break away , be someone else, live in a different town, I guess I was like Lady Bird, well except for her sexual live though😋.

Set in 2003, Lady Bird is a story of Christine Mcpherson, a 17 year old going through the familiar transitioning from adolescence to adulthood. She lives with her parents, her adopted older brother and his girlfriend.
She prefers to be called 'Lady Bird', a name given to her by herself. She wants to be an actress but only gets nameless roles in school plays, she wants to leave Sacramento and go to college in the East Coast, probably Yale but her grades don't fit and her parents can't afford it. She is loud about her emotions and is sure of what she wants in life. Her constant desires do not sit well with her Mother Marion, a nurse who is struggling to keep the family together, thereby resulting to a turbulent mother daughter relationship.
She has a soft spot for her father who lost his job and is silently suffering depression. She wants more out of life despite what anyone thinks and she is just going to get that.

Director Gerwig took Lady Bird to her town though she claims it has nothing to do with her growing up. Nevertheless, Lady Bird turned out to be the best coming of age movie I've ever seen so far. In Christine, Gerwig has successfully portrayed the inconsistencies in adolescent life, the beauty, pain, instability, insecurities faced by a typical adolescent females. Christine's makes mistakes and even wrong choices that the audience won't even agree, yet Ronan performed her role in a loveable manner and that light up the movie. Gerwig centered the story on Christine but each character is given an audience too. The relationship between Christine and her mother is turbulent yet strong. You see them share truthful sweet moments together. Every character that made up Lady Bird's life is appealing and well portrayed. The story is realistic and it shows what every parent and every teenager goes through. It's lively, funny, low budgeted and came out just fine.
