Someone once told me I was a supernova:
"beautiful and destructive at the same time."
But I had never looked at anyone
and been able to find
a glimmer of the star they came from.
Until I started counting constellations
in the acne scars on your back;
and noticing hidden galaxies
within your eyes.
Until I stood in the shadows
of your eclipse, and screamed:
"I'm not afraid
if I never again
see the sun!"
Until I tasted Saturn
on your tongue.
I think the starstuff
that burns through our veins
is the same.
And that's why when I fall
into black holes,
you can light my way home.
Written by me, for Jacob.
