Your feet are planted in the sand as the waves roll over your toes,
Your forehead pressed against the cool tiles of the shower wall as the water runs over you,
Air bubbles escape from your lungs as you aimlessly float in the pool.
You get out and you're clean,
Dirt from the day removed,
Clean and refreshed.
Dirt washed away,
Clean hair and smooth skin,
All the dirt washed away.
Some things cannot be washed away that easily,
You cant shower away the shame you feel from your candid words,
The anger searing your skin won't melt off with a silky shower gel.
Sometimes we wish to wash away our feelings,
To cleanse ourselves of the remorse and emptiness,
To wash away us.
