I purchased a copy of Scrivener for myself and a friend a couple of years ago. He's found it utterly indispensable. I've used it... twice? maybe? We're otherwise very similar in temperament and taste so this was a surprise.
It WAS lovely to have research on hand without having to mash alt-tab. But in the end if I'm working on something longer than a few paragraphs, I'll almost always default to Word or GoogleDocs. There's just so much less hassle involved.
