Secrets of Scandinavian gods. The road of runes. #17 (Soulu, Sowilo)

Soulu is a very bright positive energy. It is one of the runes of light.

Soulu means Sun (in different versions: late Scandinavian - Sol, British - Sygil, Gothic - Sauil).

Soulu rune often associates with the young god Baldr. Baldr is one of the ás gods. He was the beloved son of the god Odin and the goddess of land and air Frigg. Baldr is a very positive character. In myths, he is described as a wise and brave youth with a bright loving soul.

Once strange things began to happen. Baldr began to see dreams that foreshadowed his imminent death. This greatly disturbed his father, the god Odin. To find the answer, he saddled his eight-legged stallion Sleipnir and went to the realm of the dead. His fears were confirmed. The witch foretold that Baldr would be killed by his brother, the blind god Hod.

God Odin was very upset. But his wife Frigg did not want to give up. She found a way out. She bypassed all nine worlds (nine worlds of the Yggdrasil tree) and asked all living beings and all objects to swear to her that they would never harm Baldr. But she made a mistake. She missed the escape of mistletoe.

The problem seemed solved. This delighted all but the god Loki. By deception, he learned that the mistletoe had not made a promise not to cause injury to Baldr.

Meanwhile, the gods amused themselves by throwing different objects at Baldr, because he was now invulnerable! And then Loki gave mistletoe in the hands of the blind god Hod. Hod threw the mistletoe and killed his brother Baldr.

Soulu energy is extremely powerful. I must say that there are only two runes, which have so much energy: Soulu and Hagalaz. But their energy is oppositdirectional. Hagalaz bears destruction, an uncontrollable element and it sweeps everything in its path, making havoc and destruction. The energy of Soulu means creation, the energy of order. It captures you and brings you to new heights, to new achievements.

Soulu is the energy of the Sun. The Sun determines the annual cycle, the change of day and night and the change of the seasons. This order is durable and non-inviolable. In this way, even the microscopic part of this energy allows you to gain control over the situation.

So, when describing the situation, Soulu says that you can keep it under control, you can order it.

Soulu can also indicate the presence in the situation of a person with appropriate energy. This is a bright, charismatic personality, capable of uniting others around him. He is able to create something and keep it by the power of his energy. If a person with Soulu energy leaves the situation, it often collapses.

As the Sun shatters the darkness, so the come of Soulu energy puts an end to all the vagueness. We say "how the veil fell from my eyes." Everything suddenly becomes clear, transparent, understandable.

There is one more point to which I want to draw your attention. We say that Soulu's energy is very positive. But the truth, that is revealed to us, can bring unpleasant emotions. But, on the other hand, what does the truth give us? It gives us the opportunity to adjust our behavior depending on the real circumstances. This is important, because, wandering in the darkness, it's easy to fall into a pit. And even if the landscape that was revealed to us thanks to Soulu is not so joyful as we expected, then it's still easier to go in the light of the Sun and it gives more chances to come where we want, and not where the darkness will lead us.
