These Are Just Words Searching For Meaning

What Meaning Do You See?

She sat alone feeling dangerous indeed.

Wanting to feel something... wanting to bleed.

Tear ankle deep. they've run their course.

Remorse, feelings of bridges torched.

Wandering alone

dreaming of stones

Pyramids building

the ancient unknowns

What lies awaken?

What walks asleep?

When does time torture our memory?

When do we try to keep what we seek?

Spirituality a duality we are not perfect, my friend

The only thing we'll always do is sin.

Some more than others. Some less than a few

Some drown in morality and choke on the sins they do

The human capacity is losing to the past

We're forgetting to love, we're forgetting to laugh

Truly shocking to see...

Two of the greatest gifts that I thought always would last

Not quite sure if I got the meaning of your poem. You paint a very bleak picture of a girl who hurts herself because she feels numb. Then the poem moves into a deeper idea of spirituality, sin and the human condition. There is the sense of disconnection from what drives this world, the emotional aspect of the human heart. Much of it appears to be lost but I disagree. The strongest and most resilient resource we humans have is not found in our creativity nor our innovations, nor the institutions and systems that appear to keep this world connected. Our most powerful resources are found in the deepest corners of our hearts, the compassion, generosity, altruism, hospitality, and all those meaningful acts we do for others when we are confronted by the tragedies and challenges of others.
