Speaking on The Kurt Angle Show, the Canadian spoke about his rivalry with Cena, how they were able to turn what was supposed to be a 3-week rivalry into something that lasted three years and his desire to have a WrestleMania match against the Cenation leader.
"When I got to John and we got on the same page, he realized what I wanted to do, which was just that: make him Superman. Once we both had that understanding, we hit the ground running because we didn't think the rivalry would last more than 3 weeks. At WrestleMania 22 I got to work with Mick, who is another guy who did a lot for my career."
"Then they came back to John and I, because I think it worked so well in those three weeks, the ratings went up and all that stuff, you know, the website hits. Everything just went through the roof. Once they came back to us, I think we ran about a year and a half. Then it restarted again, and it restarted again, and we ended up on SmackDown and it restarted again. It went on and on and on. The only thing was that John and I never wrestled in a 1 vs. 1 at WrestleMania. Which is crazy, right?".
