Hi, my name is Cody. I'm from Connecticut, United States. I've been a Content Creator on YouTube for almost 10 years now.
Throughout the past 3-5 years my channel has mainly focused on cannabis, stories that usually involved cannabis, and vlogs of smoking cannabis.
My channel (http://www.youtube.com/xCodeh)
This platform was introduced to me via email by one of my viewers. Which I thought was pretty cool. The reasoning behind why he told me however was not. YouTube has recently, in the past year or two, made their policy on monetization very very strict. In 2014-2016, I could freely upload videos of me smoking with friends, or talking at my computer desk, and make a decent living. Now, in 2017 any content that's even slightly controversial is deemed non-advertiser friendly content. My channels content immediately gets put in that category before the video even goes public. I still make enough to survive and live comfortably, but most of the people who make videos similar to myself, and including myself have received substantial revenue cuts up to 60% of what we use to receive.
Now I'm not here to complain, just an explanation of why I think this website is cool. Getting paid to post, without many limitations. Even without the money, still a cool site.
All in all, I hope YouTube stops being a jabroni.

100% agreed. Google used to say they were all about freedom. Same with YouTube. But you can only allow so much freedom without it potentially hurting your profit margin.
But there’s a really easy solution imo. There are a ton of cannabis companies that would love to advertise online. Most of them at this point are limited to sponsorships and shout outs during videos. But if they let cannabis companies advertise, and paired the cannabis company ads with cannabis content, they’d have an excellent way of getting their advertising into the faces of people who actually want to see it...
