XRP Ledger offers a firewall to increase network utility and tokens
Developers from XRP Ledger ( XRPL ) and Ripple RippleX development laboratories have proposed a new XRPL standard for cross-bridge, which will provide interaction between different networks.
The XRPL standard provides specifications and recommendations for developers to create applications based on the XRP registry, providing interoperability and network communication. It is assumed that the new standard will allow blocking tokens from one blockchain in a smart contract in the XRP registry, while the equivalent number of tokens is released in another blockchain, which increases the number of use cases and the adoption of the XRP registry.
The proposal determines how transactions can be made in the XRP registry to ensure that tokens are moved between the XRP registry and related sidechins. Sidechains — are independent networks that work next to the parent chain of blocks, also called the main network. The proposed standards define eight types of transactions to ensure the safe and efficient movement of tokens.
However, the developers also identified some of the shortcomings that may exist if the proposal is fully deployed.
« Processing the growth of commissions, failed transactions and server lag was much more difficult », — indicated in the sentence.
In addition to the new XRPL standard, developers expect the launch of non-replaceable tokens ( NFT ) in the Ripple ecosystem based on the distributed XRP Ledger registry without smart contracts. The function of the rally ( the ) coin and auction is already laid in the new standard XLS-20 .
The project began this initiative for a relatively long time — in September 2021, Ripple Labs presented a fund at $ 250 million, aimed at stimulating the creation of non-replaceable tokens ( NFT ) as part of the XRP Ledger. Now most NFTs are created on the basis of Ethereum.
In addition, Ripple and Ripple Labs launched an XRPL test site compatible with the Ethereum ( EVM ) virtual machine. In the new sidechain, Solidarity developers will be able to create applications on the XRPL and take advantage of cheap and fast transactions.
