Hi friends,

Back to reality after a great vacation I came to the office. To my surprise I needed to updated my desktop operating system which is Xubuntu 17.04.

But it lost support on Jan the 13th. So the newest one is Xubuntu 17.10

So I started following the upgrade process:

• Change the repository file content

Required

deb http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ zesty main restricted universe multiverse
deb http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ zesty-updates main restricted universe multiverse
deb http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ zesty-security main restricted universe multiverse

• Perform update

sudo apt update

• Perform upgrade

sudo apt upgrade

• Perform dist-upgrade

sudo apt dist-upgrade

• Complete the transition to the newer release

sudo do-release-upgrade
