2 YEARS AND A HALF AFTER ...

Hi everybody,

I'll be back after a few months of absence ...

It has been more than 2 years since I had surgery (the brothel that time flies!) And I am delighted to see that many people read and follow my advice. I am aware that this operation is becoming very common and that many people need to see similar experiences in order to decide whether to be operated on or to comfort themselves after the operation.

I had a lot of questions, thanks, emails from people worried, others more angry about the consequences of this operation ...

2 years and a half later :

I look at myself every morning in the mirror and I tell myself that my face has really changed!

Honestly at the beginning I did not really notice any change, it was only a few months later that I realized that my face was different, the click happened when I sorted old photos and from that moment on I shelled my face entirely every day. I did not necessarily recognize myself in this new face, my relatives did not seem to notice the change but I saw him every time I met my eyes in a mirror.

My chin is definitely more prominent and my cheekbones also, my mouth and different and my smile too.

Regarding my teeth, I still have a little work because 1 year after the operation I still had problems with articulation and I tended to push my front teeth with my tongue (normal: new mouth, new position of the language !!).

I am still working with my speech therapist, he makes me do a lot of exercise to correct this defect! He also teaches me to express myself better and to use my Adam's apple as it should. It is still a long work to be done but essential for an optimal result.

There is a job before the operation with a pose of apparatus (not obligatory!) So a big financial cost, the pose of small plastic point to put elastics after the operation. A job after the operation with the exit of the block sometimes very complicated, the passage of the "liquid eating", the whole phase of rehabilitation, the psychological side, the control of the apparatus and the health of the teeth, the blues on the face, the son to withdraw, relearn to use his mouth etc ... BRIEF a lot of work!

For me, 2 years and a half after the operation and a lot of thought, if I had not done this for my health, I would not have done! I was not prepared enough for this change, all that it generated afterwards like a lot of pain, tears, doubt and a successful result but too many trials at the same time! There is no regret in my choice but only a more negative reflection than in my last post.

I do not recommend this operation only to people who really need it! An orthodontist recommended this operation to my sister-in-law because her lower jaw is set back from the top, this has no impact on her dentition and aesthetically it is absolutely not disturbing, of course she refused (The memory of my experience has given him his feet on the ground) because to undergo such a strong operation to have a perfect face must really have the heart well hooked.

After as I repeat, we are all different and there are lots of people who after 2 weeks are in great shape and the live super good (gang of lucky guy)!

So take the time for reflection, do I do it for my health? can I do without it? Am I prepared enough? etc ... and if you are comfortable with your ideas then get started!

Today my jaw cracks a little and I have some pain when it rains (my doctor tells me that it is normal, the humidity can have this kind of small inconvenience !!). I remove my device at the end of the year, my teeth are all perfectly aligned and healthy.
