10 predictions for 2023:

  1. We will have a sharp recession in the 1st and 2nd quarters of 2023. Something on the level of a greater than 1% decline in each quarter. Even mainstream hacks will be forced to admit that we are in a recession.

  2. Kevin McCarthy will ultimately win the speakership by getting 2 or 3 of the 5 holdouts to his side via caving on the motion to vacate rule change. The combination of these two things will lead to McCarthy ultimately being a better speaker than we are fearing. Not to say that McCarthy is good, but he is power hungry above all else. The notion of dealing with an internal mutiny will likely whip him into shape on 75% of the issues we care about. I think we will probably get more conservative wins than we anticipated, in part because of the lackluster midterm and slim majority. Remember, to win we need to STOP bad things. It's not about passing good things.

  3. The Biden regime will come out in favor of regime change in Russia. This will be both a cynical campaign tactic and the advancement of the Military Industrial Complex who they really serve. These reckless people are going to drive us closer to World War 3 than we have ever been.

  4. The Department of Justice will charge Donald Trump with "insurrection" or some similar BS, and attempt to get him banned from running for President. The Democrats will fully expose themselves as people who seek to stop their political opponents from existing. That's why they love Zelensky so much. Ultimately, the Supreme Court will tell them they cannot do that by a 6-3 vote.

  5. A Republican wins the Kentucky gubernatorial election, clearing the way for Mitch McConnell to resign from the Senate. He won't do that while a Democrat can appoint his successor, but if a Republican is elected governor he will feel secure in his legacy to leave and will take the chance to do so. This might not happen in 2023, but it should be clear by the end of 2023 that it will soon happen.

  6. Inflation does not return to normal levels in 2023. In fact, I think it stays above 5% at a minimum for the entire year. We have done less than nothing to address this, and it's really only normalcy bias which prevents me from saying it will get worse.

  7. Elon Musk's Twitter will become the most valuable social media app, based on traffic and average time per day spent on the platform. Twitter has become WAY more fun in 2022 and 2023 looks like it will be even better. The platform may become a legitimate vehicle for good.

  8. There will be some sort of official acknowledgement by a major government of the harm done by the COVID vaccine. It may be the US, UK, EU, but it will happen in a significant nation.

  9. Joe Biden will declare a run for President in 2024, and he will have no serious primary opposition.

  10. On the other side, we will have a very intense primary between Donald Trump and Ron DeSantis. The last month of 2023 is right before the first votes in Iowa (January 2024). I predict that Ron DeSantis will be a serious threat to win the Iowa Caucus. That being said, I think Trump will still be the strong favorite to win the nomination.

Nice post and this is about the predictions for 2023. We should pray to have a good president for the US this coming next election. The Covid 19 is not very strong anymore, and I guess we no longer have the virus. It's great that we have the group of Joe Biden.
