President of the United States, Donald Trump announced officially, the United States recognizes Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, Wednesday (6/12/2017) American time.
This decision is contrary to the resolution of the United Nations (UN) which seeks peace by making Jerusalem the capital of Israel and Palestine.
Donald Trump's controversial decision sparked violent protests from a number of world leaders. They fear the war in Middle Eastern countries broke out, because Jerusalem has long been a vortex of conflict. Not only that, the conflict even feared trigger World War III.
After Donald Trump's statement about Jerusalem was made, the whole world regretted it.
Leaders from the Muslim world and from the wider international community are quick to criticize the move. Some leaders even warned of the potential for violence and bloodshed as a result of Trump's announcement.
Not only that, Trump also agreed to move the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. This condition makes America the first country in the world to officially recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
