Ibnul Qayyim rahimahullah quoted advice from Abdullah bin Mas'ud's friend radhiyallahu 'anhu:
"Indeed you are on a journey (cycle) night and day; age is decreasing, deeds are always recorded, and death will come suddenly. Whoever sows seeds of goodness, he will reap happiness. Whoever sows evil, he will reap regret. Everyone who sows will get what he sowed."
Hasan al-Basri rahimahullah said.

اﻟﺪﻧﻴﺎ ﺛﻼﺛﺔ ﺃﻳﺎﻡ: «ﺃﻣﺎ ﺃﻣﺲ ﻓﻘﺪ ﺫﻫﺐ ﺑﻤﺎ ﻓﻴﻪ، ﻭﺃﻣﺎ ﻏﺪا ﻓﻠﻌﻠﻚ ﺃﻥ ﻻ ﺗﺪﺭﻛﻪ، ﻓﺎﻟﻴﻮﻡ ﻟﻚ ﻓﺎﻋﻤﻞ ﻓﻴﻪ»

"There are three days in the world:
• YESTERDAY, it was all gone.
• TOMORROW, you may not find it.
• TODAY, is yours. (Really) do good to him."
