An abandoned space is now a productive space

In the past days @yosuandoni has been busy... Him, the directive and maintenance personnel of the Psychiatric Hospital located in Bolivar State (Venezuela) where @yosuandoni works as a nurse.

He finished Phase 1 of his project to restore areas and increase the quality of life of the patients in his institution and went right on to Phase 2, which we bring to your attention today:

Social Case:

This institution has no spare spaces where medical and psychology students can receive classes and present projects. They have been doing this outdoors, specifically under a mango tree (we are not kidding.)

Also, the medical personnel that works in this institution need a space where they can evaluate and provide outpatient follow up assessments.

Objectives

  1. Restore an abandoned space inside the institution (cleaning, recovering un-used furniture from other hospital areas, installing window furnishings to aid in keeping the area fresh and comfortable)
  2. Engage maintenance personnel and hospital staff in these restorations.

Results

The materials purchased were mainly cleaning supplies and some light curtains to cover the windows.

With everybody's help, this space is now available for the mentioned purposes, and we have to say... the results speak for themselves:

@yosuandoni has been coached by the @reveur team during the planning and execution of this project. For any questions or for help in translating/understanding @yosuandoni original posts (which are in Spanish), please contact @mvelazco or @nnnarvaez

Life is not easy in this country, but we are looking for a way to continue fighting and working honestly.

My work with these students is to make the country better.

Woooow! This is awesome, it's from a big heart

Absolutely stunning example that humans still have their hearts full with generosity I wish you all the best of luck and in the knowing that if I was there I’d be giving a helping hand too

Awesome work. The students will surely appreciate the effort you’ve put in which will allow them to further a higher education
