Where to even begin. I know that you have all worked hard to earn the stake that you have now, and have devoted yourself to grow, improve, and actually achieve your dreams. I cannot fathom what kind of things you needed to go through to reach the point where you are now. I also read many blogs that encourage everyone to be genuine, passionate, and to share their voice, because no one goes unheard- We ALL have a voice. I wanted to use my voice to ask you something today.
How the fuck do you sleep at night?
The reality is that this $90,000 is what WE AS STEEMIANS AGREE that @haejin deserves to be paid this week. I don't agree with this amount and have been flagging him since I found out about this. If you agree that this amount is okay, disregard my message, but if it's not- You should be flagging too.
The Reason Everyone is NOT Banding Together to Fight This
Cause we look up to you guys. If you are going to post about a brighter Steemit future, and how this platform transformed your lives and helps others, you should back up your words. We listen and accept what you big fish say as truth, so when we don't see you taking action on something like this, you are sending the message that for some reason-
It's not important enough to you and you just don't care.
but, do you know what that tells us smaller fish?
Because you don't care, we shouldn't care too.
So what is it? Do you not want to lose your rewards, because you have more to lose and us minnows wouldn't understand the weight of your risk? Do you want to save your voting power to upvote content in the communities and initiatives you are involved in for a greater cause? Do you ignore this issue completely because it doesn't affect you or those you care about?
You have the strongest voices of all, but you won't say anything or spread awareness.
Have you wondered how many minnows it would take to actually overturn this? How many whales?
I don't know what you're expecting, but I would imagine that it would be sort of difficult to coordinate some hundred-thousand people. It's super shitty to learn that even a group of you guys aren't even willing to work together to help everyone else out. Yes, you would be willingly and publicly putting yourself at risk, but if you actually did this- you could protect each other, and in turn everyone else. Together you could do it. Although @haejin has a lot of stake and power now, you make like he's stronger than all of you ...combined.
What I think is double shitty is that you guys are all letting @berniesanders take the fall for your inaction. By not saying anything, you make him look like a crazy old geezer who doesn't know what the fuck he's doing. Everyone sees a -18 and thinks that he is not credible just because he doesn't have a 70+ rep score. If one of you posted about this instead, this situation would have been taken more seriously from the start.
What Bernie's rep score tells me is that he was willing to stand behind his words and put himself at risk, because having a voice is the most important thing. Not saying the shit you think others what want to hear, but the shit that you actually want to say.
That -18 says to me; "My voice is even more important than this stupid number." Everyone on Steemit is used to this reputation system, and thinks that you are better person if this number is higher. I'm starting to realize that this may not be true. He is one of the most compassionate Steemians on the entire site, and is always at the front to take the bullet that no one else is brave enough to take.
So you let him be your scapegoat and blame him for starting a flag war instead of doing something yourself. He's using his time and resources to help everyone on Steemit, and that includes you too. That's not cool.
I Like My Voice
I said this before, but I'm 100% behind Bernie, and I'm willing to risk everything I have now to stand behind that. My votes may be incredibly small, but if there is some way that I can help everyone else on Steemit, I'm gonna do it. This post is my contribution. I wonder what you believed in when you were a minnow, who you looked up to. Would they have fought and stayed true to what they believed in? Did something or someone change your mind along the way?
The people you looked up to when you came here. You are those people for all of us now.
If I get my account flagged into oblivion for speaking my mind (and it wouldn't take too much to do it either), I wouldn't mind it too much. You can hide my post at best, but you can never erase what I said here. Plus! I got to say exactly what I wanted to say.
If you guys are gonna let something like this slide, then I feel that @haejin actually deserves these rewards. What he is teaching me and others is that fear is more powerful than trust, and not everyone wearing a cape is a hero. He is teaching us lessons about greed, and status, and how these things can affect how inhuman the brightest and best can really be when given the opportunity.

Hey, love! I have been crazy preoccupied with Christmas and the visit of my sweet, oldest boy and with joining the ecoTrain, but I wanted to get back to my original Steemit crew, and you were one of my earliest supporters here. I know thi post has already paid out, but I have been following this topic, and I saw it on your feed, and I had to comment. You know I have no love for Bernie, mostly because I never vaccinated any of my kids, and I find his hateful flagging attitude toward that disturbing. I have also seen his minions go after fiction authors saying that fiction doesn't deserve a certain portion of the reward pool. I would say that I agree that haejin shouldn't be reaping the rewards he is without engaging with the community, much as it pains me to agree with anything at all coming from Bernie, but his post attacking haejin saw $1200 in rewards when I last saw it. For one post. I just think he is often the pot calling out the kettle. I don't agree with what haejin is doing with up voting himself with his cohort and raking in dollars unchecked, but Bernie has no room to talk. He bought his way in and has used his power to destroy people he disagrees with. Some are powerful, like haejin, but he has also destroyed people who posted about vaccines because their children were injured or died. I just can't have any respect for someone who destroys the reputation of someone trying to share information after the death or injury of their child simply because he can afford to do so. His -18 means nothing. It is his Steem power that means something, and perhaps he sometimes uses it for good, but often he seems to use it to shame others or feed his own ego. ANYWAY. I am excited to see what else you have posted now, and since we are done talking about he who shall not be named, we can talk about what is up for you, and that is what I am far more interested in.

I'm not blind to this, and although this doesn't make everything he does completely just, he is one of the very few people bringing these types of abuses to the forefront. I don't support everything he's about, but I only speak on things that I know about.
He doesn't have to throw contests, and create more interactions with others. Bernie has the capabilities to scam Steemit really hard, but he doesn't. I know he's not a saint, but I really liked that he ran his vote bot with the user in mind, when he didn't have to. Things like this is why I back him, he is strong indeed. We see common ground on a few things... Not a saint, but he isn't a demon incarnate either!

Right. I know he does support a lot of people. I think honestly it just feels uncomfortable that the few with power (money) get to decide who should and should not be supported. I don't know that there is a way to fix it that doesn't also present ethical dilemmas, though.

He can't earn $90000 a week if Steemers don't upvote his posts. I have seen some of his posts and he often has good analyses of cryptos. But $90000 for 1 person is quite a bit. Then you see some other Steemers including myself make a good blogpost and get $0.15 lol.

Haha that's a great observation @stadex,
Although his TA may be what's getting targetted, being good or not, 90k is far too much for one person who only contributes in posts and nothing else. It does upset me to see Steemians having low payouts in comparison, but everyone should also be trying on their blogs, and although this may feel like it's making it harder to earn, we cannot solely blame all of our own losses on him too. In the greater picture, it is still a problem though.

Good lord, Shello, you're awesome and I admire you. My votes are worth 0.006 but I'm right behind you. I sadly do have a lot to lose. I hope I don't lose my ability to have a minimum life standard over this. I will try and tread carefully as not to get my plankton account murdered by the tiniest splashes of the whales, but this seriously deserves to be fought over.
Thank you for sharing your voice and for putting yourself in the frontlines. We need more people like you with a voice to stand up for Steemit, its users and its future.

Hello @cryptosharon,
Thank you very much! <3 For the amount of time I've been on Steemit, I feel like my votes are still very small at times. It is still a better idea than any to keep trying to build your network, friendships, quality, and involvement across Steemit. I feel that as long as you are researching what you claim, and don't blindly make accusations that your account will be fine. It is normally those who maliciously go after others who will feel the fire.
There is far more people doing greater things than myself. But it doesn't make it okay for me to sit back and do nothing y'know? :3
love,
@shello

@shello I have no idea about any of this. Thanks for filling me in. I have been shifting focus to DTube as of late. I'm noticing even bigger bloggers here are starting to complain. It seems that maybe steemit may be just a test for this blockchain. I mean, we are still in beta. I think they are focusing on attracting other applications to the Steem blockchain, and not making steemit all that it can be. We'll see. Oh and sorry I have been MIA, no one pops up in my feed, and since the Holidays, I have been running non-stop. :-)

Oh hey @melbookermusic,
Don't even sweat, I'm pretty sure that everyone is everywhere these days xD And no problem, I'm not writing this for the sake of it, but moreso to create an awareness of what's going on. We are all technically still early adopters, so I would imagine that things would improve over time. Being a little different from a normal site with omnipotent moderators, the community has to moderate itself! I've also been MIA, so let's get back to it!~
With love,
@shello

This is just absurd.. $90,000 in a week is almost what 10,000 minnows make in a month or even a couple of months. My voice does matter too!! I'll stand for whats's right from now.

You have spoken exactly what I’ve been thinking. If the number is 100 k to take down 1 whale then what the H? Honestly, my feeling in coming to Steemit was to get away from bankers, not fall right back into slave mentality. So frustrating. We are not 100k. We are transported back to the lord and Serf era. 😣
Ps. Any lady who F bombs it and stands up for what she believes in has my vote!

The love is real @eaglespirit, thank you for stopping in!
The allure of Steemit for me, was to become more independent in a space where what we can build truly matters to others, and can't easily get decredited. It's frustrating to say the least that a single person, or small group can manipulate things here as well, but what gives me faith is that none of this is happening without resistance.
We can actually say what we mean, and it cannot be deleted by others. Even curse words can have a greater impact when used with consideration to context.

Aloha, I feel the love dear @shello. Thank you for being brave and standing up. There are many of us noobs that are hesitant to get involved let alone understand what is going on. It is a lot to take in the first few months. If someone is on here nonstop is the only way to really grasp a little bit and even then its a little blurry. LOL
It is only through people such as yourself that makes it all a little clearer, so for that know you are admired by many and we are watching you. Thank you for being a fine example. More and more people are speaking out.
I completely understand the censorship issue as well, I also left YT for that very reason let alone regular TV. So we are with you.
Mahalo. xx

and because steemit as a company does not do anything about it ?, or ned?
Maybe it's an absurd question because I still do not fully understand the operation of all this and that I've been here for years here hahahaha
90,000 a week is a real mockery, nothing would happen outside of steemit in the unlimited world but we are talking about here there is a cake for everyone and it has to be shared.
