So many people have been patiently (and not so patiently) waiting for the honey here on the Daddykirbs Farm. Finally I had a chance to get out to the hives to remove some of the frames that are jam packed full of the sweet golden goodness. For now I only have these 13 frames, but there is plenty left on the hive. Perhaps today I can go out to collect a little more.

Excellent! That's a beautiful pile of honey you have there. Have you ever made mead? Or whole hive mead (using the bees/venmon, royal jelly, propolis and pollen) this was the way it was done in times of old and the mead is absolutely wonderful. With that much honey sitting around, you may find some value in mead :)

I have considered beekeeping on a hobby scale. If I had enough land with flowers, or a way to hire out to farmers and gardeners, I might also be tempted to go larger-scale. It's nice to see your demonstration of how to get the final product!

May I suggest researching beekeeping for about a year or so. I learned a lot on YouTube. It's a great resource. I got my first bees this last spring and they are awesome. I'm getting ready to harvest my first batch of honey and am so exited to do so. Don't worry about not having enough flowers, they will find what they need. You can feed them sugar water when you first get them so they get a good start. Once you get started, you won't stop, just sayin. Haha
