BitChute started in January 2017 with 100 users and is growing for sure - it's time for a recap!

BitChute is a peer to peer content sharing platform that uses BitTorrent technology. It is the right place for people who miss free speech on YouTube. Many viewers and creators fed up with the latest policy on YouTube and joined the alternative platform:

Google partnered with the Anti-Defamation League to manupulate search results, delete content and terminate channels that meet their defintion of hate-speech. That was around August 2017. This is why the number of registered users on BitChute got so high in the last months.

For more information, check BitChute FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS.

What I would put on the todo list:

  • Better website navigation for related videos
  • Search directly on the BitChute site, not with duckduckgo
  • Watched videos history
  • Personalization and customization of channels
  • Allow more than one channel pro account

And I miss an open-source project on GitHub!

BitChute uses WebTorrent / JavaScript. It would be nice if more platforms share this technology. - What do you think about BitChute?

How WebTorrent works

Feross Aboukhadijeh developed a BitTorrent for the browser and explained it at a conference in 2014:

So interesting! So what's the connection between BitChute and Dtube?? Are they the same, just different currency? Could you explain?

DTube uses Steem as crypto currency. BitChute does not use any currency so far. It's like a BitTorrent client in the web browser. Both technologies are awesome. Maybe someone will connect them in future. That could be very interesting, I guess.

Yes, I agree.. Both technologies are awesome. I am grateful to be alive right now to experience all of this. :)

And..... Not open-source. -.-

Yeah, that's a pity, too! :-(
