Practicing yoga has long been known to be very beneficial to health, both mental and physical. This benefit also cannot be felt by diabetes. In fact, an article in the Indian Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism states that yoga is said to be an effective therapy for controlling the symptoms of diabetes. So, like what yoga movement for diabetes you can do at home?

What are the benefits of yoga for diabetes?


Just as healthy people who practice yoga, there will be many health benefits that you can reap from diligent yoga. Basically, yoga is an exercise that combines physical work, breathing techniques, relaxation, and align your body, mental, and holistic.

During yoga, your mind will pause to stay focused and calm to see the big picture of your real problem. This makes you more capable of introspection and acts on the basis of full awareness, rather than false panic. Over time, yoga will train you to start altering your diet and lifestyle instinctively to prevent your subconscious from damaging what has been painfully built so far. All of these things are well done for people who have diabetes.

In terms of symptom improvement, an article in the Journal of Yoga and Physical Therapy found that practising yoga sitting for 10 minutes can have a good effect on the stability of glucose levels in the blood, heart rate, and diastolic blood pressure.

This study looks specifically at how the benefits of yoga for diabetes. Although only within the scope of the study is small, but still it shows that doing yoga as a "companion friend" can improve the effectiveness of your diabetes medical treatment.
