The skyrocketing popularity of cryptocurrencies and blockchain is now gradually re-shaping the world of digital dominated by gaming. A secure digital currency, crypto, offers various new opportunities in this field. Yumerium aims to make these opportunities a reality.
Key Features
Crypto token earned and spent by gaming
Yumerium will enable gamers to earn tokens by playing, sharing and reviewing games. These tokens can then be spent in any of the games that support Yumerium.
Blockchain marketing for gaming industry
Blockchain marketing instruments, such as bounty and airdrops, are an example of gamification. Yumerium aims to unfold their potential for game developers, helping them boost user acquisition and engagement.
CryptoMine
Subdream Labs, the company behind Yumerium, is building their own game, CryptoMine to demonstrate how they are going to implement the idea. It will be the first game fully integrated with the Yumerium platform.
Roadmap
In March 2018, the private Yumerium token sale went live, followed by the public token sale launch in April, according to the information on their website. The whitepaper states, however, that public pre-sale is scheduled for the 23rd May. The team plans to present all Subdream Games and Native Token in June. CryptoMine with Yumerium support is scheduled to be launched in the third quarter of the year. It is expected that strategic partner games and third-party support for selected games will go live before the end of 2018. The broad adoption with 3rd party games is scheduled for the first months of 2019.

Competition
Neither the Yumerium elevator pitch, nor their whitepaper mention possible competitors or describe how the project is going to remain competitive. They only provide analysis of the gaming market at large and how a blockchain project like Yumerium can gain advantage. Yet, the idea of integrating the crypto world with the realm of video games is not new, and there are already games that allow you to earn crypto by playing. As we can see, Yumerium is creating a platform that should give a boost to the industry of blockchain-based gaming. However, if you Google for “crypto gaming development platform” you will see a bunch of similar projects. We believe that Yumerium should explain how it is going to be different.
Whitepaper and Other Documents
The Yumerium Whitepaper has 34 pages, describing the problem with the market that Yumerium aims to solve, explaining how they are going to do that and presenting their roadmap and token details. Eight pages are dedicated to the team. The Evaluation Pitch is a document interpreting the same information in funny pictures, which requires some explanation.
Conclusion
We believe that Yumerium faces stiff competition trying to achieve their goals. We would love to know how they are going to stand out from the crowd of similar projects. Nevertheless, the idea they want to deliver on is trendy, and after all, a monopolist blockchain-based game developer is not something the decentralization philosophy is about, is it?
