If it's worth something it's worth trying lol

SpaceX isn't one to give up after just one (or a hundred) tries.
They ALMOST caught it the first time...

You know, when they said it will be a red car going up there, I thought it was going to Mars and we will be able to watch the first roadster rolling on remote on the Mars surface.
And than they made that rocket misses it completely? Why?
If they already built that monster, why not going the whole way and just land it on a planet?

lotsa reasons...
no brakes for one...
no fuel.
it actually went as far out as the asteroid belt..and will continue in that orbit damn near forever.
it goes PAST mars....(orbit) but nowhere near the planet..

Searching on the internet I got the explanation: "SpaceX tried to catch a piece of its newly launched rocket with a giant network ... and it narrowly missed
SpaceX tried to catch a piece of the last launched rocket, in a new plan to recover the immense costs of such a launch.

SpaceX always manages to become the topic of conversation, it is without a doubt the company of the moment; It is difficult to continue surprising after throwing a car into space, but that does not mean that they will not try it.

Today's launch was relatively normal. The rocket was a Falcon 9, to which we are already accustomed; the cargo was the interesting thing: the Spanish satellite PAZ and two small satellites dedicated to offering Internet all over the world.

But the launch was not the only important part of the event. SpaceX took advantage of the circumstances to try a new method to recover parts of rockets launched; and as if we were in a cartoon, that innovative method was a very large network......"https://omicrono.elespanol.com/2018/02/captura-de-un-trozo-de-cohete/
