I have an idea for an iOS/Android camera app.

I started talks with a developer to see what it'll take to bring to life an idea for a camera app that emulates the experience of shooting on film in a clever way. No details on it yet until things look more solid. Stay tuned.

Got me curious. How?

I got an idea for an book, let's find a writer to write the book for me.
Newsflash: coming up with ideas isn't the hardest part of software development.

So be prepared for a development process. Good luck.

Why do you assume I'm looking for someone to do the work for me? I plan on commissioning a developer with the skills I don't have to help me with my vision. I don't just "have an idea". I have an entire paper on what this app should do, down to the minute detail.
EDIT: I see you edited your post to add that last sentence.
This isn't the first time I've been through the process, but I appreciate the advice.

I wonder if the people behind camerasim might be worth talking to as well: http://camerasim.com/

Oh that's pretty cool. Although, the idea I have wouldn't be a simulator, but a way of shooting photos with one's mobile device that provides an experience similar to film. I'm not talking about image quality or filters here, but something a bit more synonymous with the experience one has when committing to shooting with film.

Okay, that sounds like a very interesting idea, hope to hear more about it. Will stay tuned :)

Good idea
