Back when Zelda phantom hourglass was released. One character always stood out to me.
Love him hate him. He actually stands out. First, being an egotistical guy. Who uses Toon Link to help him find the maps to obtain the sacred gift of the Ocean King.
But, something happens has the Nintendo ds continues. You see him struggle with the partner he uses to have. Who happens to now be a female Pirate who wants nothing more than, revenge on Lineback for using her. But, as more of the story continues. You see more of Lineback learning from Link.
Making Lineback going from a rude character. To someone who you'd least expect something to happen. In the final, moments. When the phantom nocks Link aside and, the sword so close to Lineback. You see Lineback actually try to fight off Bellum. As Link gained his conscious. Bellum attaches it'self to Lineback. While holding the phantom hourglass sword.
Even with the small will Lineback had. He did everything he could to give Link the sword to fight Bellum. Not just that. While, in combat Lineback tries to help you. Even when he was possed. But, the moment when you start liking the character. The game slowly tells you. That the characters have to part with one of the best acoustic guitar melody pieces .
It's hard to explain it. But, the song just fits how sad the moment. While, Ciela a fairy who was a good incarnation of Navi dida lott of character growth with you. Just makes the ending just that much sadder. When, you see them faiding. As Link is sent back to his world. Away from the characters he began, to get really close to.
It's a real shame Lineback never came back. When, his theme is still really good.
It combines the feeling of a comical yet sea worn man who wants to go on an adventure. while, having a michevious melody as it goes on. Even, if Nintendo doesn't remake phantom hourglass. Lineback will remain a forgoteen let loveable character in the Zelda series.
