I believe this was inappropriately identified by steemcleaners.
While it is true that Zen koans are age-old, all of the current activity is around the commentary. The reddit link above provides a commentary of the koan but also did not "invent" the koan. My commentary is different and new and the pairing of the old koan and the new comment creates value for the community.
