This is my first entry to the Zen Colouring Contest and I thank the host @magiccleatus for the opportunity.

Since lilac is in the purple family and I am through and through a fan of all shades, hence my @purplemagic handle, this contest caught my attention and drew me in ;)

I wanted to do a non-digital approach to this contest because lately I have been using various forms of art to decompress and unwind so a hands on approach really lets me get lost in the process.

I did not have a strategy, I really just felt the flow as I created. What I did intentionally do is use a monochromatic style and incorporate different textures and shading to add interest. I used a combination of paint, pencil crayon and marker.

Upon viewing the finished product I couldn't help but notice the border that just so happens to remind me of bunny faces and how appropriate is that with Easter so soon approaching?..what a "hoppy" coincidence ;)

If I gave this piece a name I would call it: "I lilac your style"

Naturally, for next week's theme I would have chosen purple but lilac satisfied that for me this week so I would next be inclined to say TEAL! :)
