As our first growing season unfolds successfully and the New England weather maintains its expected ebb and flow, we are set to host the first annual Zero Waste Conference to take place on the 👁 ❤️ Organic homestead & micro-farm along the south coast of Massachusetts.
#EHO is an organic agricultural cooperative aimed at achieving sustainability. We have created a lifestyle brand representative of our collective core beliefs. A primary aspect of our multi-faceted mission is to adopt the most eco-positive modalities, practices and protocols today's technology and savvy will permit. We are not only a group of talented and motivated professionals, we are family owned and operated to the fullest, kids included. The #EHO logo captures our hearts and the vision in our minds' eye for a world where concern for ours and our children's environment is valued over convenience; a world where thrift, frugality, activism and science will facilitate a marketplace abundant with goods and services which can enrich our economy while balancing our ecology.
We recognize that consumption is a necessity, and commodity can facilitate an exchange of goods and services necessary to maintain a high level of health and comfort for our species. Our own consumptive habits have led us to understand how we can sometimes harm ourselves and often our environment to satiate immediate needs and pleasures. One of the most important features we have built into our P2P business model is our desire to help lead the way towards Zero Waste by engaging in education and awareness, representing and brokering Zero Waste products and companies and adopting a low-impact approach in developing merchandise and in our farming techniques.
On our homestead we are working diligently to lower our contribution to the waste stream to as little as possible. We reuse and repurpose what we can and recycle when we must. We compost all food scraps and use paper for kindling. We are conscious of packaging when shopping. We currently have grid-tied soar panels and plan to become even more sustainable in the near future. As we grow and discover more ways to live in harmony with the environment, we would like to invite you to learn with us. Our blog and weekly podcasts serve as a creative outlet for us to share our journey with you and give you a way to connect with us so we may be part of one and others' support network. That is what this summer's Zero Waste Conference is about.
╔══════════════╗
Join us for a day of talks, workshops and networking. We have Zero Waste vendors lined up as well as creators of locally sourced homemade products. Eye Heart Kids are preparing a slide show and lecture on pollution and litter. We have invited key representatives of the local cannabis industry to connect with manufacturers of eco-friendly packaging. Delicious organic food will be provided with compostable plates and flatware.
📌 The final date and official announcement is slated to take place on Thursday afternoon May 31st on my podcast. See below...

May 31st 2:30PM EST live on a special edition of Hangin' with WHO 🎙.
Bea Johnson, world leader in the Zero Waste movement and best-selling author, whose book has been translated into 20 languages, has become a role model for my family just like the many who have followed her path towards a sustainable and healthier lifestyle. A number of years after having discovered Annie Leonard's Story of Stuff, the term Zero Waste started to enter the lexicon of environmental circles. Our household had already been whittling away at some of our consumptive habits and learning how to replace toxic cleaning and hygiene products with DIY alternatives. It made sense to lower the amount of toxins our children, their epileptic mother and asthmatic father were exposed to on a daily basis.
Our household is nowhere near achieving Zero Waste just yet. We have our vices. We opt for convenience at times. Only now, thanks to brave trendsetters like Bea Johnson, we can no longer use something without considering its long term impacts on our environment and the lives around us. We've been able to save ourselves a considerable amount of money, time, space and possible future health issues. It takes less time to clean, so we have more time to play and cuddle. We hope that her family's journey, and ours, will inspire and motivate you to continue seeking new ways to live sustainable, economically and ecologically sound. We can do this together.
