In our sample of women at an elevated risk for breast cancer
development, the consumption of total omega-3 relative to
omega-6 fatty acids was lower (1:10) than that thought to be
optimal for health (1:2; ref. 39). Overall, long-chain omega-3 fatty
acid consumption was lower than recommended (39)
