hey @shauner,
Thanks for sharing your perspective.
The new min threshold is not intended to push people away at all. We did explain the reasons of this adjustment (large pending queue and waiting times for up to 2 weeks, decreasing STEEM price, decreasing AFIT price on S-E), and overall this is directed to better sustain and grow the project.
The AFIT for vote exchange service is just a service to earn more SP, although the core of actifit is to have you get healthier, join a community of like minded individuals and earn tokens.
Our plans focus on making sure the ecosystem is well functioning and to try preserve the value of AFIT for you and all other token holders.
Hope this makes sense.

Actifit Daily: Increasing AFIT to Upvote Entry Point. Automated Transfer Confirmations. Daily Updates
Thanks for the reply. I did read the explanation and realized that changes needed to be made, but this is a drastic change that will disproportionally impact newer users to Actifit and leave little incentive for new users to join in the future.
This leaves virtually no path to a new user being able to actively benefit from Actifit participation without a buy-in. People new to Steemit, like me, were thrilled to have a fun activity like Actifit that could help us with our fitness and allow us to build our Steem Power at the same time. 95% of the SP I've earned has been because of Actifit. Without that component, I will likely discontinue using the Steemit platform because it's too difficult to build SP without an outside activity like (the former) Actifit... or a big buy-in.
I really hope you'll reconsider the drastic changes that have been made to Actifit and focus on the newish users to ensure its continued growth.

@mcfarhat I know why you did the change and after reading some of the comments can see the logic behind it. I do however still think to raise it to such a large amount is the wrong move. I think you are going to be excluding alot of people from being able to use the vote exchange service. I do think potentially this might be a better option to have 50% upvote at 5k and 100% upvote at 10k. This would provide an incentive to hold Afit but also sound more of an achievable target. Also onto sort of an unrelated topic, I have noticed that there is no incentive to carry on once you have gone past the max daily reward level. Potentially maybe this would be a better option to look into overall instead of how you use the current vote exchange system. Perhaps the vote exchange function should become unlocked once you have gone over the max reward by a certain amount a few days in a row.
