"Never experienced American prosperity"

"Never experienced American prosperity," she says, working for Time and living in NYC.

So I assume this was somehow transmitted through a 400 baud modem connected to a mainframe at a large computer facility where she paid through the nose to get time on the then-primitive internet.

In fact, it was probably done on an incredibly powerful device in her pocket at zero marginal cost while she sat at Starbucks drinking a $5 dollar coffee beverage that previous generations would have found extravagant. She may well have got there by hiring a car using that same device at a price well under a cab and far more convenient.

She's also the daughter of a nationally known political pundit and best-selling author. She very likely had a wealthy upbringing, and I'd bet money that her current job has more to do with who her father is than any merit of her journalism portfolio. This is the equivalent of one of Lori Laughlin's kids complaining about how college admissions is unfair.

Her mum was also the executive producer of the Colbert Report. There's no possible way she is anything other than extremely wealthy.

A little experience of the "prosperity" of the 50s, especially for women, might be educational for her.
