I remember I saw one and I was so shocked at it , it sort of scared me

Cute.. both of you!

Ah so it's their diet that caused it.

I like the idea of a lazy slothful weekend! Hopefully warmer and with no more snow.

@hilarski,
This is one of the excellent photography! High Five with a sloth :D To get this photography I think you have to wait few mins till hand up :D There are damn slow lol :D Happy weekend friend!

Cheers~

The truth is that sloths are incredibly slow movers, but for a very simple reason: survival. The fact that slow sloths have been on this planet for almost 64m years shows that they have a winning strategy.

Keep in mind that sloths used to be freak'n huge! Hard to believe they've been slow through there multi million year evolution.ground-sloth-colorful.png

The video explained that pretty well.

Keep in mind that trees used to be freak'n huge too! So big that we call their stumps, flat topped mountains. Or mesas.

Wow Amazing post. it is look like .

For your post propagation.

What a handsome guy, slow, but handsome. Looks like he loves taking picture of him, he is smiling. They look funny, they are laziest animals in the world, but at the same time they are pro in climbing the trees.
Very cute!
Resteemed!

They have lazy all day and night. What a wonderful life they have. That’s why they always smile.

I love sloths so much. They are so adorable. Have you ever watched a sloth when it poops. It may be the most adorable thing you’ve ever seen. They look so happy and contented.

love sloths

sloths spend most of their time eating, resting, or sleeping, in fact,Motionless or moving very slowly, huddled against a tree trunk or hanging from a branch, the sloth with its inconspicuous fur can be virtually invisible, It's a way to avoid predators many predators rely on identifying movement

@hilarski They're not slow, they're just trapped inside a gravitational distortion which causes time to flow at a different rate for them.

Nah kiddding, just wanted to show off science knowledge. :P

Wow wonderful post. thanks for sharing

Thanks @hilarski
Have a great day

  1. Sloths only feed on tree leaves, which are difficult to digest. Digestion they lasted a month and is performed with bacteria-symbiont living in the digestive tract of a sloth. 2/3 of the weight of the sloth is the contents of his stomach.

  2. The power of sloth is the main cause of his "laziness" — the animal is trying to spend less energy because almost all of it is needed for digestion. The leaves are very isocaloric food and give very little energy.

  3. The sloth is an amazing neck: long, movable, consisting of 8 vertebrae. Thanks to her, the sloth can gather food, twirling in all directions with his head but not moving.

  4. Unlike most mammals, sloths have full color vision.

  5. Sloths "visit the toilet" just 1 time a week. The bladder they are huge. In order to relieve themselves, the sloth needs to get down from the tree to the ground, and he does not like that much: first, on the descent-ascent need a lot of energy to spend, and secondly, on the ground sloth feels helpless.

  6. Due to the fact that sloths are all life in the "limbo" state, their organs are unusual. For example, the liver is rotated to the back and not in contact with the abdominal wall, trachea is bent, etc. the Coat grows towards the ridge, unlike all other mammals.

  7. Sloths are so sedentary that their wool live insects, for example, butterfly-moth, as well as blue-green algae, giving the fur a greenish tint, sloth hiding in green leaves.

  8. Down from the tree so hard for sloth, what if the baby falls down, the mother is unlikely for him to climb. Actually, mate and give birth to offspring sloths also hanging on the branches.

  9. Despite the fact that sloths completely defenseless and can't even run away from a predator, they are very numerous due to good camouflage and slow movements. In some areas, sloths make up 2/3 of the total biomass.

  10. Brain sloths contains very little brains, well developed olfactory region.

Thanks for the information @grisotti

It's weird that there are so many different people talking about sloths these days.

I've always that the sloth looks like the villain in a superhero movie that you don't find out is actually a villian until the end. Not unlike the movie Unbreakable.

The difference is they live all around me. Others are just talking about them.

wow sloth is really looking os cute and lazy and to see with you in happy style i think to bring in my home i watch the video is informative about his life and his style of eating fruit like coconut i like that how sloth cut coconut and eat hilarski sir good to share with us this

They are not slow.
They just pretend that they are slow, but you can't actually see how fast they move :d

Because they don't have a corrupt financial system to make them live a fast life

Being slow and eating is all they need :D

Huh lazy animal

Very Excellent Video Thank you for sharing I appreciate your effort I love this animal so much it's amazing make you enjoy. @hilarski

Animals are important in my life I have dogs at home
Dogs are intelligent, have the ability to learn easily compared to many other objects, and the dogs are often trained to guard, and the guard dog can overcome an animal five or six times larger, but interesting that these dogs, which sometimes turn to brutality, fierce does not harm the owner Never to redeem it in its spirit to save it from danger and not give up whatever the danger.
Another reason we love dogs a lot is that they are skilled at play and fun. In addition, humans enjoy pleasure when traveling with them, especially if they have long hair and thin looks. One of us would like to have one of these dogs.
Thanks for the valuable participation.
@hilarski

Homeland: Central America

Information I liked about this animal has achieved a record of sleep
The lazy animal sleeps about 20 hours a day.
The rest of the day spent eating
The lazy animal stays on the trees for his own safety
As it descends above the trees once a week to urinate and protrude, but it becomes an easy prey for predators while on the ground

It makes me laughing 😂😂😂
My favorite animal is the horse
My grandfather owns a farm in the desert of Morocco
On the farm there is a stable with 4 horses
When I go with him on vacation
I spend all my days with the horses

Excellent video which covers mystery of evolution. Pretty awesome photography~

Hello @hilarski,

They are cute. I wonder how smart they are. They certainly have a lot of time to think

THIS MIGHT TAKE A WHILE. 😁😁😁😁😁😁
Sluts can move Blazingly fast, but it's not what you think.

On a race track, sloths can “run” (crawl) at a relatively fast pace. Relative is the key word, considering they typically move at most 2 meters a minute. In immediate danger, that speed gets jacked up to about 3–5 meters per minute according to the general consensus of sources I’ve found.

When I was in Costa Rica ('84) I climbed a tree to pet one on the head. He was hanging upside down, as usual. I watched him take 30 minutes to travel the length of a branch - about 6 feet - because he stopped 6 times to take a nap. I knew that if I stayed away from his front paw moving in the direction of his tail I would be safe because that's the only motion he can do quickly. I wasn't prepared for the snarl he gave me though. Kinda scary!!

Lazy animal and too slow.
I guess why they move slowly is being herbivores, the only thing they eat would be leaves and would techniqually be a folivore or a strict leaf eater, no fruits or vegetables for them. That being said, these leaves doesn’t give them enough energy to move around very much. They also have a very slow metabolism and no higher muscle mass except what is need for them to grip and climb trees. They are able to move faster but that would cause them to lose more energy than necessary. Have a great weekend @hilarski.

Fantastic magnificent video and appreciate it.
