Making ornamentssteemCreated with Sketch.

As a real artist I never did have any interest in ornaments. (There was this day though, where my wife came home and I had made 300 paper-cut simply because I had to see if there was more interesting variations I could invent). But as a whole ornaments are often considered less interesting from an classic western artistic view-point because they do not express anything. We normally just admire the arabesque of the North African cultures that do have a spiritual appendix in the strict Muslim concept of Shirk.

But as Katharsisdrill I do as I please and am not afraid to make some slimy, kitchy things... and I am not afraid of ornaments either.

When I first began using Krita, the multibrush was not yet there (as I remember) but when I found it in the sidebar I did just like I did with the paper-cuts. For some days I just invented and invented circular ornaments.

Some of these circular ornament can be downloaded for free... All my artworks as Katharsisdrill are CC-by, which mean that they are free to use, modify and sell just about the same way open-source software is. You just have to mention me and point here or one of my other profiles.

And here they are:

Zipped file 35.9 MB

I posted them on my Diaspora-profile some years ago, And I have showed them on Steemit six month ago too (where they were largely ignored)

All art on this page is made by myself and is free to use under the CC-by license.

it's opening my consciousness.

Haha, I'm glad! I made them in a strange meditative state.

Nice work :-) I don't know why, but I feel attracted by the octopus.
I also pretty much find those dividers very useful (for posts).
Whenever I do a translation post and I'm able to use your "streg.png", the overall look of the post improves a lot. This could be a niche...

Yes, they are kind of useful. Streg by the way means line in Danish :)

I thought so, cause it's pretty similar to the german "Strich".

man that is a great !!!! i don't understand how only 20 people have read this article... well i'm giving you a full vote and follow your blog. I hope to share more stories in future! thanks

Neither do I :) But thanks for the support! I truly appreciate it.

I have to learn how to make some of these. I've seen several artist experimenting with their designs and it's pretty awesome.

The trick is really in my painting application. You should try it, it is open source and therefore free.
Download it here

The tool is called multibrush:

I'll definitely check it out. I hope it's compatible with my iPad or else I'll have to try my computer. Thanks for posting the link and video for guidance!

I think it only runs on computer. It is more or less meant to be used with a digitizer. I am not sure but maybe other programs has the same tool?

Bummer. I have a MacBook that's collecting dust in my room that I'll use to download it. I might still search around to see if there are any other programs that are compatible.

Well, I will keep a look out for iPad apps that can mirror and swirl around an axis...

Such amazing work, my third eye weeps with joy :)
Thank you

Thanks mate!

No, thank you :)
I used some of your work here https://marketbit.vialcoin.com/how-it-works/
I want to add some credits for you on that page. Is steemit.com/@katharsisdrill good enough?

Cool! I like when it is used. Steeemit is fine!

Well...
now, you've done it. ^_^

Yea, it has a strange attraction to me :)

Interesing ideas for some designs. Thanks
